Massachusetts Youth Football Alliance announces rally schedule and invites media, legislature, and the governor's office to attend.


MYFA Announces rally schedule which includes Dr. Peter Cummings, Merril Hoge, and Andre Tippett. With the announcement comes an open invitation from the MYFA President and Board of Directors to the news media, Massachusetts Legislature, and Governor’s office for VIP access to all speakers for one on one conversations or interviews.

Boston, MA— 4.12.2019 — As Bills H.2007 and S.1223 progress through the legislative process, the MYFA is gathering youth tackle football players, cheerleaders, parents, coaches, and supporters at the State House in Boston on Tuesday 4.16.2019 at 11am. During the 2.5-hour rally of supporters we have scheduled the following speakers (subject to change, additions, and order adjustment):

· Nathan Bilotta – MYFA 

· Roosevelt Robinson – Boston Area HS and Youth Coach

· Terrance Turner - Ex-Eagles NFL Player, All Big Ten, 4 Year Indiana Starter, and Youth player

· Damien Jarrett - Ex-Rugby player who retired before changes were made to tackling

· Supportive mothers and their children’s stories

· Joe Paniello - Eastern Mass Pop Warner

· Craig Karahuta - AYF

· State Representative Marc Lombardo

· Joe Rafter - President of California Youth Football Alliance

· Christian Lopez - QB Coach, Fitchburg State Alumni, youth player from Bronx, NY

· Merril Hoge - ex-Bears and Steelers NFL Player and Dr. Peter Cummings MD - BU neuropathology and forensic pathology

· Paul Dauderis – MYFA

· Andre Tippett – NE Patriots HOF and NFL HOF Alumni

     Before the rally we invite the State Legislature to request meetings with our team to find out more about our cause, how we focus on safety, and our first focus is the care and well being of our participants. Merril Hoge and Dr Peter Cummings will be available, the co-authors of Brainwashed: The Bad Science Behind CTE and the Plot to Destroy Football, to discuss science now and what the future holds for football and advancements. Paul Dauderis – MYFA President will be available to discuss the various football leagues within the Commonwealth, their safety measures, injury protocols, and technology advancements that continue to make the game as safe as it has ever been.      Recently the MYFA was backed by USA Football, Pop Warner, and AYF in an unprecedented joint statement of support, from the three largest national organizations. Many members of the Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association have supported the youth tackle football community and the California Youth Football Alliance has also pledged their support to fight the proposed ban and advocate for youth leadership representation during any discussion about legislation aimed at youth sports, with a focus on youth tackle football. Directors and members of all of these programs are expected to be in attendance and some may speak.
